Tech Mahindra Interview experience, Manogna, IT

Hai...
I was very happy for getting placed into Tech Mahindra. First of all, I would like to thank all the faculty and management for the support they had given to us and the struggle they had taken for us.

Coming to the process, it was very cool. The only thing you need to be is confident and prepare well.

The process started with the pre-placement talk. Then we had written test (General Aptitude and English) of 170 Questions in 80 minutes. You will also have sectional cut off here. This is very important because though the paper was easy, here time management is very important. Without good practice, you can’t do it directly at the time of exam. So please attend the mock test conducted by our college. It helps a lot.

Pattern of Written test:

There are 11 sections in it. Everything is to be done within the 80 minutes and no negative marking.

Section 1: Logical and Analytical Reasoning (Non Verbal) – 35 Questions
Section 2: Logical and Analytical Reasoning (Verbal) – 20 Questions
Section 3: Numerical and Mathematical Abilities – 15 Questions
Section 4: Tenses – 10 Questions
Section 5: Subject-Verb Agreement – 20 Questions
Section 6: Sentence Construction – 10 Questions
Section 7: Prepositions – 20 Questions
Section 8: Reading Passage – 10 Questions
Section 9: Building Verbiage – 10 Questions
Section 10: Confusable words – 10 Questions
Section 11: Articles – 10 Questions

TR and HR Interview:
After the written test, Tech Mahindra usually conducts 2 rounds --Technical Round and HR.
But due to the lack of time, some has both TR and HR combined. I too had both rounds together.
There are 4 panels and the process of interview depends on the interviewer.
My interviewer was very cool. I had this round for more than 30 minutes.
The process started very cool. At first, he asked me in which area I was interested to work? (Developer, tester, DB administrator, networks, etc...)
As my answer was DB administrator, he asked me questions on DBMS.  He tested my knowledge on concepts of database. He did not ask me questions directly on the subject but he tried to check my knowledge in the subject based on the real time examples. He gave different real time examples of data base and I need to answer them relating them to the concepts of DBMS. The questions were very easy but you need to answer them clearly by connecting them concepts, how it works. Be confident while answering them.
After this, he directly jumped into the HR questions. Here, he tried to check my leadership qualities, confidence and my way of thinking. He asked single question in different ways by giving different real time examples. He tried to check whether I may keep changing my answers completely. But never do this. If it happens, try to give the answers accordingly but never change your answer completely. That is, it should not be contrast to your first answer. Just support it by adding more relevant examples according to the based situation.

For the entire process of interview, the only thing required is confidence and smile on your face. Never loose your hope and try to motivate yourself in the positive manner. Keep smiling whole heartedly and answer any question being cool. The interviewer can easily identify all these by seeing at your face and the way you answer. So just maintain all these with Smile...

What I would like to suggest all the students taking part time in the placement drive was, don’t get discourage at the day 1 itself. Try to increase your preparation till the end and never get down any time. By self-motivating  and keeping confident yourself will lead  you to the success.
