Before
I start sharing my experience with you I want you to know that interview is not
just about the technical or general knowledge that you have . It encompasses
several other factors like
1) The way you present
yourself
2) The way you handle the
question, because you may not be knowing the
answer to every question .
3) The confidence level that
you show during the interview plays a vital role. (Please don’t forget to smile
because it is the best way to hide your nervousness , but please don’t give a
constant fake smile)
So
I would say interview works out to be in your favor if you carry a combination
of knowledge and above factors
Apart
from these factors few other important things that you should do before the D
day comes
1) Please be prepared with at
least two subjects as a part of your area of interest ( This doesn’t mean you
can totally neglect all other subjects , you should be ready to answer any
question in C and C++,java, dbms(if ur from cse or it and c is fine if ur from
ece or eee), apart from these two choose two subjects as your area of interest
)
2) Prepare your resume in a
proper format ( preparing your resume also means that you should be well
prepared to answer any question related to
each and every bullet point that
you mention in your resume)
3) Be prepared to answer
questions like tell me something about yourself ? or its modified version i.e.
tell me something about yourself which is not there in your resume.
4) Please prepare yourself to talk about the
projects that you have done ( you should be able to explain what is the overall
idea of project , your role in the project and how was your experience with
that project)
5) Also remember the names of
the subjects that you have studied so far .. and names of the subjects that you
have in the ongoing semester .( please have some idea about the subjects in
previous semester because they might ask you questions based on the subjects
that you had in previous semester)
Tech Mahindra recruitment process has changed
from past 2 years.It has 4 rounds
1) Aptitude round
2) Eassay round (99% not an
elimination round)
3) Technical round( TR)
4) HR round
Aptitude Round(80 mins 170 ques)
It
is a very easy to crack the aptitude round. Main key point to crack this round is time management.
Well I started with verbal section it has 100 questions in it, trust me it’s
very easy except meanings, completed it in 30 mins.later started quant, this
section consist of 70 ques which are of very basic level,i did almost 68 ques
in the remaining 50 mins.(in quant section mainly concentrate on alphabetic
sums and sequences, I felt they where bit complicated than other ques.

Essay round
This
is basically not an elimination round. You are asked to write an essay, these
topics are very general like, Is discipline important in life? Please avoid
silly spelling mistakes because your HR will be reading your essay in front of
you and pointing out your silly spelling mistakes. Luckily I dint even do a
single spelling mistake but he pointed out my friends mistakes.
Technical RoundEssay round
We
were all waiting in the auditorium for the interview process to start . TM
people had divided the students into different groups to interview. There were fourteen panels in
total and I got panel 2 . we went there for the interview at somewhere around
1pm . I was waiting for my chance to
come and finally I was called for the interview at around 4:00 pm ( so here is
a small piece of advice for you , you may have to wait for hours before your
chance for the interview comes therefore please be patient enough)
I
walked into the room,
L: Laksh
T: technical interviewer
L:
Good evening sir J (with a smile)
T:
Good evening J .
T:

(He
corrected my essay for a min)
T:

L:Answered,ever1

T:
k laksh. Which place are you from ?
L:
Basically I’m born and brought up in
Hyderabad sir ..J
T:
Laksh tell me something about your favorite subjects that you have done
L:
I said 2 of my favorite subjects as c and stld.
T:
he showed me some flip flops diagrams and asked me to name them.
L:

T:he
asked me to tell names of some more flipflops.

T:k tell me something about DMA.
L:

T:

L:

through my resume. After completing orally I said can I explain with an
example.

L:
I explained it clearly. He was impressed the way I explained, he said good.
(he
asked me some more ques related to c which wer very easy to answer.)
T:k
tell me about your biggest weakness?
L:
sir my biggest weakness is my handwriting , its bit complicated to understand.i
feel it as a weakness as I lost many marks in my final exams in my Btech life,
as evaluators would hardly spend time to go through answers to award marks. But
I over came it by writing whatever I read at the time of preparation. Now it is
way far better sir.
T:do
you think bad handwriting is a problem?
L:well
I guess yes it is sir because I’m a live victim in front of you. And I hope it
won’t be a problem in future as I improved it a lot.
T:k
then tell me about your strength?
L:
sir my strength is my positive attitude sir. Because attitude is such a
thing, which will make a person or break
a person, with positive attitude and sorted approach one can reach places sir,
and I’m lucky enough I developed both the qualities in me.
T:
great answer J. do you think you’ll be
selected?
L:
I gave my best sir,I feel I will.(he tested my positive attitude)
T:
thank you , you may leave. J
The
bottom line for the entire process is be calm , be confident.
